„A spirit of familiarity and mutual respect should prevail in all schools (…)”
– John Paul II, Łowicz 14 June 1999.
The final of the action took place on August 29 this year. The children accompanied by their parents met in the theater room of the Catholic House. Before receiving their parcels prepared thanks to the kindness and generosity of Mr. Jan Burkat, the owner of the JAN shopping center network, they took part in the workshops dedicated to the education carried out in the period 1920 – 1930. Thus, they got to know the aspect of school education in the time of Karol Wojtyła and could see what school accessories were used in that period.
This year, after consulting with the teaching staff, the Museum has decided to help a group of seventeen elementary school pupils from Wadowice (in 1-3 yeas) who start school in September. To meet the problems affecting the youngest representatives of our local community, we prepared gifts to meet the children’s real needs, taking into account their passions and special talents. In the packages, in addition to backpacks, notebooks and stationery products, the children also found accessories for drawing and painting, sports equipment and sweets given by Mr. Andrzej Dąbrowski, President of the „SKAWA” candy factory.
Let’s hope that thanks to this action we can help children to start the new school year, and make them and their families smile and feel happy.
