The second meeting of the cycle „We remember him this way. Memories of John Paul II” took place in the theater hall on Saturday, June 15. The guest of the meeting was Paweł Zuchniewicz, the radio journalist and the author of books on John Paul II.

During the meeting that lasted nearly two hours, the journalist told the story of his meetings with the Holy Father, both as a spectator and as a person from the media world. The most valuable part of his journalistic duties was for him the opportunity to be with John Paul II during the most important moments, as well as the professional need to constantly return to the words of the pope. Mr. Zuchniewicz shared the fruits of his work with the participants of the meeting. The Holy Father’s voice resounded again in the short radio broadcasts, becoming an occasion to bring back beautiful memories, such as those of the World Youth Days, and to recall also the requirements that the Pope had set for Polish people during his pilgrimages to Poland.

The most exciting story was that of accompanying John Paul II during his visit to the Holy Land on the occasion of the Jubilee Year. In the plan of the Pope’s visit they did not include his visit to Mount Calvary. However, thanks to his humble but constant determination, the Pope managed to change the program of his stay in the Holy Land and finally prayed in the place of the crucifixion of Christ.

At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Agnieszka Skrzypczyk, the eM radio journalist who led the event, opened the floor for audience questions that not only asked the questions to our guest, but also shared their personal memories related to John Paul II.

Thank you for this meeting and we invite you to the next one. The details of the next meeting will be communicated to you as soon as possible!
