The inauguration of the exhibition „1979. The light in the darkness”

On Friday 7 June, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of John Paul II’s first pilgrimage to his homeland, the Museum Family Home of the Holy Father John Paul II in Wadowice inaugurated the exhibition entitled „1979. The light in the darkness”. The first pilgrimage of John Paul II to Poland in the SB materials from the archives of the Institute of National Remembrance.

The inauguration ceremony was performed by dr hab. Filip Musiał, director of the Department of the Institute of National Remembrance in Krakow and by rev. Dr Jacek Pietruszka, director of the Museum. The director of the Institute of National Remembrance told us about the „Summer 79″ operation. The exhibition was shown to the guests by Mr. Rafał Dyrcz, head of the departmental archive of the Institute of National Remembrance in Krakow and the author of the exhibition. At the end of this event, in the theater hall, we presented the film „Pilgrim” which is the recording of the pilgrimage of 1979. The introduction to the film screening was given by the director of the department of the Institute of National Remembrance in Krakow.

The exhibition was set up in collaboration with the Institute of National Remembrance,  affiliate in Krakow.
