Sculpture of the Pope – Pilgrim as a gift for the Museum

On 3 of November 2017 – the eve of Karol Wojtyla’s name day, at the courtyard of The Holy Father John Paul II Family Home in Wadowice, rev. Jacek Pietruszka – director of the Museum, and prof. Karol Badyna solemnly signed a contract on handing over a bronze statue of John Paul II – Pilgrim.

The sculpture had been on display since April this year, and on the 3rd of November it became a permanent element of the exhibition.
Other piece of art by Karol Bandyna – cold cast bronze Pietà, has been placed by the house of the Pope since April.
PhD Karol Badyna is an associate professor at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In his work he mainly deals with portraiture. He has created many monuments in Poland and abroad. He also deals with sacred art. The artist’s output includes more than thirty comprehensive projects of churches and chapels, many of which have been completed. He designed sacred objects in a dozen or so dioceses in Poland. Since 2009 he has been working on the design and implementation of Bible Gardens in the team of prof. Zofia Włodarczyk. He was taking part in the creation of the gardens in Proszowice and Muszyna.
